3rd Saturday in October and a stomach full of finger nails!

This is a play that will live in infamy
What's higher than Rocky Top?
 MT. CODY!!!!!

Ok then, on to the rest of the story.  Amy, Steve, Isabelle, James and Leah all left Friday morning to go visit with Granny and Paw Paw.  We had a great visit and some great BBQ that Paw Paw cooked.  Leah, Amy and Isabelle went to Wal Mart to pick up some last minute tailgating items.  We all headed to Tuscaloosa about 4 o'clock.  We went to check in the La Quinta in Tuscaloosa.  They didn't have a cot available for Isabelle so they let us out of our reservation and we found a great room at the Comfort Suites.  Isabelle had her own pull out couch bed instead of a cot and we had queen size beds instead of full size.  Much better!

We were surprised to find a room last minute.  After a little resting and freshening up, we headed over to the RV to meet up with Auntie, Unc and Kurzin.  We headed to Mugshots to meet Nicorette and Mark.  We all loaded the Q and headed downtown.  2 hour wait, we decided on Wings.  The wait wasn't too long but we had time to take some goofy pictures.  Dinner was fun. Nicorette and Mark broke off from us to hang out with some friends of their that were Tennessee fans.  BOOOOOOOOO

We went to Target so Auntie and Unc could get tailgate supplies.  Took them to the RV and headed back to the hotel.

After a good nights sleep, we were up and ready to head out.  We got to the RV and watched Game Day together.  Then we watched Arkansas and Ole Miss.  Arkansas got beat by Ole Miss!!!  We were totally shocked!  Unc and I went for a bike ride.  What fun that is.  You can definitely get around campus a lot quicker that way.  We got some boiled peanuts and beer.  We saw Ivan and Tanya's brother Phil.  Headed back to the RV and got ready to go to the game.  Leah, Nan and I were all feeling a little uneasy about this game for some reason.  Haven't felt this way all year but it wasn't a good feeling.  Guess the feeling was for a good reason.  Scary, scary game!  When Steve puts his head down in his hands, I know it's not good.  I always look to him to give me the "it's going to be OK" but it wasn't there in the last minutes of the game.  My heart was racing.  Once they were on the 27 yard line and in field goal range, Ba Dunc and Kurzin said "it's over" but I told them "He's still got to make the kick."  I don't know why, but I just knew Tennessee wasn't going to be celebrating in our stadium that night.  In a miraculous save, Mt. Cody blocks the kick and Alabama wins!!!!!!!  A Daniel Moore moment for sure!

We stayed in the stadium for a least 45 minutes afterwards!  We went down to sit in the seats we sell every year and are seriously considering going to those next year.  They are very close to the field but to the side so you can still see down field.  We think we witnessed Unc's son (Mike Johnson) get engaged on the 50 yard line after the game.  We got to see our favorite guys take their picture on the field with cigars.  We were awful proud of Baron Huber as he made a catch for a first down.  WOO HOO!

Headed back to the RV finally and enjoyed quite a crowd.  It was a lot of fun.  Isabelle got Cory Reamer's autograph and of course a picture with him.  She's very bold!  As always, all good things must come to an end and we headed back to Georgia.  Got to Cedartown about 1:30.  We stayed at Marc and Kathy's so as not to wake up Zeke and get some rest.

Was a great weekend!  Only two more home games which is so sad.  Got next weekend off, which is very much needed by the Tide, and we're going on Friday night to watch Derek (Candi's son) play in Jacksonville.  Hope we bring a better game for LSU.

ROCKY TOP..YOU'LL NEVER MEAN,
ONE $%&@ THING TO ME!
@%*# YOU ROCKY TOP!
GO TO @%$* TENNESSEE!!!!

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Oh Piss!

Oh wait!  That's Ole Miss.  Was a slow game against them but thank goodness for Tiffin.  I think he had the most points this game.  Ole Miss has a good defense and terrible QB.  They were supposed to be a dark horse this year and was a game we were nervous about before the season started.  After South Carolina beat them I felt pretty good about our chances.  That QB didn't stand a chance....and additionally had a terrible haircut as Auntie so lovingly pointed out.  My man Reamer had a great game!  WOO HOO for lucky number 13!!

We watched the game and James and Leah's house again this weekend.  Leah got there back from school at half time!  Meredith joined us for about the first quarter.  She was pretty broken hearted since Auburn lost their first game this year.  I can't lie, we were all really happy considering so many Auburn fans that we've known (not Dirt) has gone on and on how they were going to be undefeated and the were back etc...  We wouldn't be good Alabama fans if we weren't happy that Auburn lost.  Georgia got pummeled by Tennessee.  Behind Jevan Snead, Crumpton (TN QB) has to be the worst QB in the SEC.  I didn't get to watch the game but all I can say in Georgia blows!

We watched the big game of the weekend.  Florida vs LSU.  Tim Tebow was back after a concussion two weeks ago in the Kentucky game.  My money was on Florida and of course they pulled it out.  Now I'm no football expert, but I really don't think Florida is the same as last year.  I've already put it in the prediction hat that Les Miles will be gone or at the very least on the hot seat this year.  He has so much talent on that team and they suck!
We had a great time with the crew and will be headed back to Tuscaloosa this weekend for Homecoming.  Can't believe football season is almost over!

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Alabama vs Kentucky

Our first home game...and by that I mean we got to stay home.  As much as we totally love and are super grateful to be able to go to the games, it's nice to have a weekend at home.  Granny and Paw Paw came up from Birmingham so we went up to Cedartown to watch the game with the crew.  James and Leah were gracious hosts and we watched the game at their house.  It was a great game.  Kentucky actually did a great job and put up quite a challenge.  This was Alabama's first road game other than the Atlanta game which was considered neutral territory.  Unc and Auntie road their bikes from Anniston to Piedmont to join us.  We went over to Marc and Kathy's to have a great lunch of ribs, mac and cheese, pintos...YUM!  Later we watched the first half of the Auburn/Tennessee game at Scott and Meredith's house They have a projector and we watched it on their wall in the backyard.  It was pretty neat.  A little chilly too.  Had some beautiful weather for football and a great weekend!

Roasting the Hog...SOOOOEEEEE

It was another wet day in Tuscaloosa for Alabama vs Arkansas.  We arrived at the RV about noon...right before the bottom fell out.  One of the many times throughout the day.  I think it rained harder this time than it did last weekend.  Shana and Donnie came by and we got our rain gear on to head to the game.  It drizzled but we fortunately didn't get that wet.  Isabelle, James, Leah, Jimmy Ray, Ellen and Nan went on ahead of us so they got to play in the rain on the way.

As soon as we got into the stadium, it was rain gear off and not a raindrop.  The sun even poked out a couple times.  The game was great and Alabama looked really good!  35 - 7.
We roasted the hog when we got back and enjoyed some pig in a blanket, appropriately named for the thematic tailgate.
Isabelle game rushing into the RV to tell us Mt. Cody was outside the door.  She was so excited to meet him and get him to sign her football.  She also took a picture with Baron Huber, our tailgates favorite player.
I got stiff armed by Julio as he tried to escape around the back.  Tanya and Tim's RV's neighbors were kind enough to bring us some of the BEST friend catfish I've ever put into my mouth!  John also brought over some yummy boiled peanuts.

Another two weeks before we head back to Tuscaloosa for Homecoming against South Carolina.
